If you are using extended health benefits, check the details of your coverage in your Extended Health Manual, or speak with your Human Resources department. For your convenience, we can now bill directly to most insurance companies. We now also accept patients through the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) and the Veteran’s Affairs Health Program.
No referral is necessary to participate in physiotherapy treatment. However, patients are advised to check the details of their extended health benefits as some plans may require a physician’s referral in order to get treatment costs reimbursed.
New physiotherapy patients have 1-hour assessments and follow up treatments are 30-minutes. All appointment times are one-on-one with your physiotherapist.
The number of sessions you’ll need depends on your condition. All of our patients are individually evaluated. Your initial visit gives your therapist the information they need to assess your problem, determine a prognosis, and create a treatment plan. Your therapist will discuss this with you at your
initial assessment.
At your initial visit, your physiotherapist will conduct an interview and a thorough physical evaluation. This will be directly followed by treatment so you can immediately benefit from your experience.
Treatment itself can vary depending on the condition that you are presenting with. This may involve education on your injury and how to optimize recovery, manual therapy (hands on treatment), modalities (e.g. ultrasound treatment, acupuncture), and an exercise program.

We believe that injury prevention begins with having a strong core, good alignment, full joint mobility and appropriate muscle balance and control related to your tasks and activities. Also, if you are planning on starting a new sport or activity, it is recommended that you train your body so that it is conditioned for the new demands.
Our Physiotherapists can assess you and determine the areas that need attention by developing suitable exercise program for you. Out physiotherapists may work with you to release muscles and soft tissues that tend to get tight with your daily postures or work demands. If you are unsure of which service may be best suited for your needs, feel free to contact us by phone or email so we can help you make an informed decision.
If you do not have Extended health Benefits, we accept VISA, MasterCard, Interact Debit and cash payments. Payment is due in full at the end of each session. You will be given a receipt with your service provider’s information and registration number. This receipt can be used to claim your benefits if you have health insurance that covers your treatment. You will have to send your receipt and claim form to your insurance provider so that you can be reimbursed. For your convenience, we also offer direct billing to all major insurance companies.

Whether you're trying to get pregnant, are pregnant, have children or not, every woman can benefit from working with a pelvic health physiotherapist. We guide you in preventing, managing, reducing and resolving common pelvic floor conditions.
Pelvic health physiotherapists are trained to assess and treat the pelvic floor as well as the rest of the body similar to general physiotherapy. At Crescent Heights Physiotherapy, we assess how your pelvic floor muscles work together with the rest of your body and not just as a set of isolated muscles.
An internal pelvic exam is not mandatory but is the gold standard to assess how your pelvic floor muscles and connective tissue within the pelvis are working. An internal exam may be recommended to further investigate the symptoms you are describing.
There are various conditions that can be successfully treated with external treatment options if you don't wish to complete an internal exam. You will always be asked to provide consent before any assessment or treatment is provided and you are welcome to remove your consent at any time.
